It's Alive is a live album by the American punk band the Ramones. It was recorded at the Rainbow Theatre, London, on December 31, 1977, and released in April 1979. The title is a reference to the 1974 horror movie of the same name. The album was originally released as a 2-LP set and draws material from the Ramones' first three albums. Four concerts during the U.K. tour were recorded, but the New Year's Eve performance was chosen because ten rows of seats were thrown at the stage after the concert and it was considered the best of the performances at the venue. The concert was also filmed and later released in a truncated form on the DVD It's Alive 1974-1996. The footage, along with a later interview with Marky Ramone, revealed that in the album the bass, the guitar and the vocals were completely rerecorded in the studio. The drums however, were unchanged. The album is considered one of the best live albums in the history of rock.
